The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the release of funds to all Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) across the country to fully finance the 2025 WASSCE practical examinations.

In a statement issued on Saturday, July 27, and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the GES reaffirmed the government’s commitment to easing the financial burden on parents and guardians, while ensuring candidates receive the necessary support to excel.

The funds, according to the statement, are intended to provide the requisite materials and logistics for the successful conduct of the practical components of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), including science, technical, and vocational practicals set to begin in the coming weeks.

“The release of the funds is to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated examination process that enables students to focus on their academic work, while relieving parents and guardians of any such financial burden,” the statement noted.

GES further cautioned regional, district, and school authorities to ensure the funds are used solely for their intended purpose.

Management indicated it would be monitoring the disbursement and utilisation closely to uphold accountability and prevent any misappropriation.
