The government has pledged to complete the Takoradi Market Circle redevelopment project to enable residents of the Western Region to reap its full benefits.

President John Dramani Mahama announced this when he visited the Takoradi Market Circle project site as part of his “Thank You Tour” of the Western Region on Wednesday.

He said the government would discuss new schedules for the project’s completion with the contractor.

“The government will meet the contractor and Minister of Finance to discuss how to complete the Takoradi Market Circle Redevelopment project, and soon the contractor, engineers and workers will be on-site”.

Currently, the management of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) has provided a temporary site for traders.

According to the President, the purpose of the tour was to enable him to meet the chiefs and people to thank them for their support during the 2024 elections.

He was accompanied by the Western Regional Minister, Mr Joseph Nelson, and Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Mr Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah.
