GH-SIGNBOARD, in collaboration with the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), embarked on an initiative on March 6, 2025, to fix faulty road signs across the principal streets of Accra.

The group focused on repairing signposts in the central part of the city to enhance road safety.

Their main targets included road signs covered with posters or stickers, signs obscured by overgrown bushes, and other obstructed or damaged signposts.

As part of their efforts, the team repaired all broken signposts along the Awoshie-Bayard to Pokuase Road, ensuring a safer driving environment.

The founder of GH-SIGNBOARD, Richard Osarfo, emphasized the importance of their collaboration with the National Road Safety Authority in promoting road safety.

“We are undertaking this initiative with the National Road Safety Authority to ensure safe driving on our roads,” he stated.

He highlighted some challenges the group faces, especially when citizens request assistance in fixing faulty road signs.

“We encounter many challenges, particularly when people call on us to fix damaged signposts. We urge the government to support this initiative to help prevent some of the accidents we witness on our roads. We also encourage Ghanaians to reach out to us whenever they notice faulty road signs,” he added.

Team member Enock Kofi emphasized the crucial role of welding generators in their operations, stating that acquiring support for such equipment would significantly improve their work.

Sandra Osei Pomaa, another team member, reiterated the importance of their mission and called for government intervention.

“We decided to help fix all faulty road signs to ensure safer driving conditions. If the government supports us, it will greatly improve road safety awareness,” she said.

The initiative by GH-SIGNBOARD continues to make a positive impact in reducing road hazards and improving navigation for drivers in Accra.
