The Ministry of Health has issued a statement in response to the ongoing strike by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), assuring the public that measures are being taken to minimize disruptions to healthcare services.
According to the release, the Ministry has implemented additional steps to reduce the inconvenience caused by the industrial action and emphasized its commitment to resolving the matter.
It noted that negotiations for the approval and implementation of new Conditions of Service for the GRNMA have been conducted through all appropriate channels.
“In line with the Ministry’s policy to ensure a healthy population for national development, it has become necessary to make provisions to fill the gaps created as a result of the strike,” the statement said.
The Ministry further encouraged the public to continue accessing healthcare services at various facilities, including those where nursing services are still available, to ensure that their medical needs are met.
