Accra Hearts of Oak has formed a recruitment committee to spearhead a major squad rebuild ahead of the 2025/26 football season.
In a statement released on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the club said the committee members will be ”drawn from the board, Management and technical team.”
”The committee has initiated a comprehensive evaluation process that includes assessing the current performances and potential recruits in line with the technical team’s guidance.
The club said ”the recruitment strategy is driven by data analysis, focusing on enhancing key areas within the team.
Concurrently we are escalating the roles of current players to ensure alignment with the club’s long-term objectives. Some of the players who do not make the cut, will let go.”
The committee, comprising representatives from the board, management, and technical team, has begun a thorough evaluation process.
This process involves assessing current player performances and identifying potential new signings, guided by data-driven analysis to strengthen key positions within the team.
The recruitment strategy focuses on enhancing team areas while promoting existing players whose profiles align with the club’s long-term goals.
Players who don’t fit into this framework will be released. Although the club outlined the committee’s purpose and approach, it didn’t disclose the members’ identities.
Hearts of Oak finished fourth in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League and suffered a round-of-16 exit in the MTN FA Cup, ending the 2024/25 campaign without a trophy.
The team’s next challenge will be against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in the President’s Cup on July 6, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
