The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer, has responded to allegations that his doctorate degree is self-manufactured.
The NDC Deputy Director of Elections has come under intense criticism, particularly from some NPP communicators on social media, who claim the school he credits for his certificate does not exist.
They have called on the President to investigate the matter and ensure that Dr. Tanko, who they allege operates with a fake certificate, is relieved of his position.
But when asked whether the allegations are true, the NDC stalwart said he does not waste time responding to what he described as “stupid people” because doing so would make them appear credible.
He further questioned why the people behind the allegations, especially leading NPP communicator Sir Obama Pokuase, failed to bring out the so-called exposé while the NPP was in power.
“So, his government was in power for eight years. Was he sleeping? Or was he in Jamaica? He didn’t know this? I worked under them as a lecturer for eight years. You see, I don’t respond to idiots.
“That’s why I haven’t responded to him. That’s how I operate. I’m a lecturer. I’ve taught students for a very long time. Matters like this — when you give them attention, you give them credibility,” he said on Accra-based GHOne TV on Wednesday, June 11.
When pressed further, Dr. Tanko asserted that his certificate is credible and that he earned it from an online institution — Kingsnow University — between 2012 and 2016.
