With Artificial Intelligence (AI) accelerating transformations across industries, the Pan-African AI Summit 2025 positions Ghana and Africa at the heart of the global digital revolution. Kicking off on September 23–24 at The Palms by Eagles Hotel, Airport City in Accra, the summit features Andreas Horn, Head of AIOPS at IBM Germany, whose pioneering work in autonomous IT operations provides a strategic lens for scaling AI infrastructure for business and a platform for employee and individual upskilling across continents.

Mr Horn’s address will unpack how AI-driven optimisation will spur growth, enhancing productivity, skills and innovation. He will emphasise the potential for AI as a catalyst for Africa’s economic growth, but its success depends on strategic adoption, workforce transformation, and responsible governance.

Mr Horn will explore how AI can practically boost productivity, enhance skills, and drive innovation across key sectors like finance, agriculture, and healthcare. Drawing from real-world AI implementations, he’ll share insights on scaling AI and fostering local talent.

In his words, Mr Horn said: “Real-time decision-making with AI can fortify Africa’s enterprise systems, making them more agile, resilient, and responsive to the continent’s evolving digital demands”.

A Continental Convergence of Talent and Vision

Held in strategic partnership with Ghana’s Ministry of Communications, the summit will bring together more than 500 innovators, investors, and policymakers from across the continent and beyond. The speaker roster features over thirty distinguished voices shaping AI’s future, from government leaders and global tech executives to academic pioneers and social impact visionaries, including:

Hon. Sam George, Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Innovation & Digital Technology

H.E. Ghita Mezzour, Former Moroccan Minister of Communication

Jason Hickey, Head of Google Research Africa

Senior representatives from UNESCO, Accenture, Ecobank, Deloitte and the Bank of Ghana

The agenda interweaves high-level dialogues with pragmatic showcases across FinTech, HealthTech, EdTech, AgroTech, and governance, all delivered through interactive keynote speeches, plenary sessions, panel discussions, workshops, presentations, fireside chats and venture pitches.

Where Business Meets Impact

For policy makers and business leaders, the summit offers:

Direct access to emerging ventures and AI-savvy talent

Strategic partnership pipelines and deal flow opportunities

Insight into regulatory shifts shaping Africa’s digital economies

The flagship Pan-African AI Pitch Competition and the Youth Empowerment Track reinforce the summit’s long-view approach: building ecosystems that elevate African ingenuity while fostering inclusive growth.

Afrocentric Innovation as Africa’s Superpower

From voice assistants in multiple African Languages like Twi, Swahili, Afrikaans, Hausa, to intelligent systems tuned for informal trade dynamics, the summit champions a powerful message to the population. In the African context, we don’t have a limitation; we have a competitive advantage.

The 2025 gathering will not be used as a linchpin to catch up with the West; it must be used to reshape the narrative of who leads in the age of intelligence, given the diversity of our abundant resources in the young population and nature.
