Former Asante Kotoko skipper Ibrahim Danlad is backing his former club to claim victory in Sunday’s much-anticipated Super Clash against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Now with Ethiopian side Coffee SC, Danlad remains closely connected to the Porcupines and expressed confidence in their chances.
“This is a must-win for us,” he said. “I’ve worked with Coach Zito and I know what he brings to the table. Kwame Opoku is back in form, and I believe he’ll score. Kotoko will win and keep a clean sheet.”
The upcoming clash on May 4 will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium, though only 25,000 fans will be admitted due to ongoing maintenance, despite the venue’s 40,000-seat capacity.
Having won the first leg 1-0, Kotoko will be hoping to do the double over Hearts in what is widely regarded as Ghana’s fiercest football rivalry.
Kotoko are currently 4th on the GPL table with 50 points and Hearts are 6th with 45 points.
With both teams eager to end the season on a high, Sunday’s encounter promises to be another thrilling chapter in this storied fixture.
