Ghanaian and Real Oviedo midfielder Kwasi Sibo is confident in his abilities to represent the Black Stars, following an impressive season with Spanish outfit in the just ended La Liga 2 season.
The 27-year-old’s standout performance played a crucial role in the team’s promotion to Spain’s top-flight La Liga for the first time in 24 years.
Since joining Real Oviedo in July 2024 on a two-year contract, Sibo has made 42 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
Sibo’s hard work and dedication have earned him recognition, and he believes he is ready to take on the challenge of playing for Ghana.
In a recent interview with Asempa FM, he expressed his confidence and willingness to represent the four-time African champions.
“I’m matured enough to play for the Black Stars. I believe this is the time. I’m just doing my best and waiting for them. I’m always ready to represent Ghana.”
He added, “I love to work hard and that gives me enough stamina to do my job. Midfielders control the game. To play in the midfield, you have to understand the game, have stamina and patience. Playing all this while in Spain, I think I have learnt a lot and ready to play for the national team.”
With his contract running until summer 2026, Sibo is expected to play a key role for Real Oviedo in the La Liga next season, bringing his expertise and experience to the team.
With 2026 World Cup qualification on the horizon, his growth in Spain’s top tier will be closely watched by the Black Stars coaching staff.
