After a decade-long absence, Athletic Club is set to return to the UEFA Champions League, thanks to a convincing 2-0 win over Getafa on Thursday.

The victory not only secured a top-five finish for Ernesto Valverde’s side but also marked a significant milestone for the club.

Athletic Club will now participate in Europe’s premier competition for the first time since the 2014-15 season.

The journey to the Champions League qualification was not without its challenges.

Athletic Club faced heartbreak in the Europa League semifinals, where they were defeated by English giants Manchester United.

However, the team bounced back with determination and focus, ultimately securing their spot in the Champions League.

Iñaki Williams, a key player for Athletic Club, will be thrilled to be part of this historic moment.

Inaki Williams has been on fire this season, the Ghanian international has netted six goals and delivered six assists in La Liga this term, showcasing his remarkable skill.

He ranks second in goal-scoring for the Basque club this season, surpassed only by Unai Sancet’s 15 goals.

Notably, Inaki is the third-highest assist provider in La Liga, with Lamine Yamal (12) and Rhaphina (9) leading the pack.

Inaki’s five goals and one assist were crucial in Bilbao’s memorable run to the Europa League semifinals, where they were ultimately eliminated by Manchester United.

Athletic Club’s last appearance in the Champions League was marked by a tough group stage, where they failed to progress.

Despite this, the team has shown remarkable growth and resilience over the years with domestic success especially in the Copa Del Rey.

The qualification for the Champions League is a significant achievement for Athletic Club, and the team will look to build on this success in the upcoming season.

With Iñaki Williams leading the charge, Athletic Club is ready to take on the best of European football and make its mark on the continent.
