The Institute of Directors-Ghana (IoD-Gh) has elected new members for its Governing Council at an Annual General Meeting held on June 23, 2025 through zoom.
The new Governing Council was sworn into office by His Lordship, Justice Ayitey Armah-Tetteh of the General Jurisdiction Division of the High Court in Accra during an investiture ceremony on Friday July 4, 2025.
The members include Mrs. Mary Asare-Yeoah, the President, Mr. Michael Justice Ashong, Vice President, Rev. Angela Carmen Appiah, immediate past president, Mr. Peterson Ekow Afedzie, and Herbert Lawson.
The rest are Kofi Asaumadu-Apenteng, Dr. Rejoice Wodomdedzi Foli, Robert O. Mensah, Sulemamu Koney, Kofi Okofo Dartey, Apostle Dr. Christopher Sorkpor, and Dr. Alfred Mahamadu Braimah who is the CEO.
The institute announced that the regional and corporate representatives of the new Governing Council will be announced later.
About the institute
The Institute of Directors-Ghana (IoD-Gh) was initially founded in 1999 as an independent organization, registered under the Companies Act as a company limited by guarantee.
In May 2019, it was re-registered under the Professional Bodies Registration Decree 1973, NRCD 143, to more effectively promote director professionalism and corporate governance in Ghana and beyond. Its name, Institute of Directors (IoD) is a global organization dedicated to training directors in best practices for corporate governance. Membership is open to directors and corporate governance practitioners, providing opportunities for capacity building and networking.
