What is happening between Israel, Iran, and the US raises serious questions about the usefulness of the United Nations. The supposed middleman, the voice of reason, now stands powerless, its hands tied, with member states bowing to bullies. The world seems to be ruled by those who control the UN and render it toothless, stripping away its mechanisms and moral authority.
So, what is the use of the UN? What is the point of regional organizations like the EU or AU when NATO appears to be the only institution capable of deciding the fate of the world? Whether we face another world war or not seems to depend not on dialogue, diplomacy, or collective reasoning, but on the interests of a select few. Those who should be neutral mediators such as EU countries or the UK, have instead adopted entrenched and dangerous positions.
The powers responsible for most global conflicts are ironically the only ones with influence in the UN Security Council. Citizens have protested. They have called out, named, and shamed these puppet leaders, yet their cries fall on deaf ears. Leaders sit comfortably in their plush chairs, making decisions that will hurt us all while ignoring the will of the people.
Has the world reached a point where racism is replaced by religion as the new tool of marginalization? Israel, often the aggressor, is now being hailed, while its victims are vilified. It feels insane. Did we go to sleep and wake up in a dystopia? Those who preach democracy, value for life, and respect for sovereignty are the very ones violating those principles when it suits them or their allies.
What power does Israel hold over Western states, that it seems to lead them blindly into war after war like in Libya, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen, Lebanon, Afghanistan, all destroyed by non-factual claims and the same predictable playbook? From January 2025 to June 2025, Israel has reportedly dropped more bombs on Gaza than were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
These old politicians, who may not live more than another two or three decades, are causing generational wars that will haunt the youth. Some remain silent because the bombs are not hitting American or European soil directly, yet they forget that American personnel and civilians live within easy striking distance in nearby states. It’s as if they simply do not care.
Even if the US and Israel “win” today’s wars, they are planting the seeds for future catastrophes. Children who watch their parents, siblings, and neighbors bombed or starved to death will grow up angry, traumatized, and vulnerable to radicalization. Many acts of terrorism today were born from such trauma. Imagine if victims or their relatives decided to retaliate in the Western countries where they now live. One act alone could unleash havoc. But because politicians and their families are protected, they turn a blind eye to the risks they are creating for the ordinary people.
EU citizens are already protesting over the cost of living, housing shortages, and the migration crisis, issues directly linked to the wars their governments helped ignite. Now these same governments parade as heroes for taking in the displaced, while forcing them into low-paying jobs. Skilled professionals now clean floors and collect trash because they’ve been robbed of their homes and futures.
Look around at the growing numbers of Palestinians, Somalians, Iranians, and others now living in Western countries. Many are frustrated, angry, and desperate. This internal discontent could become even more dangerous than the regimes the West claims to oppose. And yet the EU remains blind. The US and Israel create chaos and push the fallout onto Europe and UK and they remains mute.
These leaders have already secured wealth for their children and grandchildren, born from blood and exploitation. And even if we blame them after they’re gone, it will not matter, as the Bawku Mampruli proverb says, “a dead goat doesn’t fear the knife (Buukpilin Buzur Suuwa.” Those responsible for the destruction of Libya, Iraq, and other nations are long dead or retired, while their descendants live peacefully, and we live in fear.
If Donald Trump and Netanyahu’s actions were to lead to the deaths of two million people, their children would not be held accountable. But ordinary people will suffer the consequences. Israel is committing genocide in the Middle East using Western weapons. It has violated international law and ignored countless UN resolutions. It possesses an estimated 90 nuclear warheads, yet refuses inspections even those sanctioned by the UN Security Council. Despite this, Israel has the arrogance to attack a country seven times its size over unverifiable nuclear claims. The hypocrisy is staggering.
Imagine if what is happening in Gaza happened to Israel instead. How would the West respond? The world went to war to stop Hitler when Jews were targeted. Yet the victims of yesterday have become the oppressors today with Western support. Netanyahu now acts as a modern-day Hitler, using terror to dominate the Middle East. UN delegations have been shot at. Journalists have been killed. Media is blocked. Starvation is used as a weapon. Food aid becomes a death trap. Babies are bombed. Hospitals are flattened. Even UN peacekeepers have been fired upon and still, nothing is done.
What was once done in secret, that is the assassinations of African and Middle Eastern leaders, is now done openly, with no regard for life. And all in the name of Western interests. Are these interests really about peace, or are they about resources, just like they were in Africa? Looting minerals, installing puppets, dividing brothers. This is the colonial playbook reborn.
We now live in a world where a US president can ignore international law and bomb any country he pleases. No one can stop him. The US decides who lives and who dies. Right and wrong are defined not by justice, but by power. Citizens are lied to, manipulated, and ignored once the elections are over. Not even experts, diplomats, or global protests can change the course of events.
The last remaining voices of reason, the EU and UK Are either too scared to stand up to the bully or have chosen to be complicit. It’s as if Israel holds some hidden leverage over every world power. Some leaders even justify this genocide using the Bible, forgetting that Israel itself does not accept Jesus. Ironically, if Jesus were to return home today, he would have no home, because Jesus was born in Palestine.
How can a nation bomb another unprovoked and then forbid retaliation? And anyone who speaks out is instantly labeled antisemitic, even though the term is now being used without context or understanding.
What we are witnessing is not just the destruction of Gaza or the isolation of Iran. We are witnessing the unraveling of the global order. Faith in international institutions is disappearing. Nonaligned nations are turning to BRICS and other alternative alliances. Trust in the West is crumbling.
If this continues, the West won’t just be diplomatically isolated, it will face backlash. Not just from governments, but from people. From youth radicalized not by religion, but by injustice. From movements that reject the so-called “international community” because it has proven itself to be a farce.
And let us not forget, this isn’t new. Western powers already did this in Africa: in Congo with Patrice Lumumba, in Burkina Faso with Thomas Sankara, in Libya with Gaddafi, in Ghana with Nkrumah. They toppled leaders, fueled wars, looted resources, and returned dressed as saviors offering aid, loans, and scholarships.
It is a cycle of exploitation dressed up as diplomacy and it must end!
