Kennedy Agyapong, Not A Messiah, But Unshakable Pillar The NPP Must Rally Behind.

No one stands a messiah to a political party but not every leader fits for political leadership. Political leadership differs from corporate and social leadership. It requires uncommon political dexterities, but not never about a mere job title or like having an academic title Dr. Political leadership is the ability to create and win public trust and confidence. Not everyone can acquire such legerdemains, agilities or ingenuities. Mr Kennedy is the right leader for now and the future for my fellow NPPs. We must rally behind him for his great move. He has unusual style that you may not like but it works as I said earlier African political leadership requires some special requirements.

In the face of growing political uncertainty and internal division, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stands at a crossroads. The choice before us is not merely about personalities—it is about vision, integrity and the future of Ghana. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a man of unyielding principle and unmatched grassroots appeal, represents the kind of leadership the NPP desperately needs. It is time to stop the unjust vilification of a man whose only crime is speaking truth to power. The truth teller leader is always the true leader.

Mr. Agyapong is not a failure—he is a reformer. He is not incompetent—he is a builder. He is not divisive—he is a unifier who has consistently championed anti-corruption, economic empowerment, and national unity. His critics within the party, especially those aligned with Dr. Bawumia, have resorted to personal attacks and unfounded accusations, yet remain silent on the real issues plaguing the party and the nation-corruption, digitalization failure, economic failure, plunging Ghana to IMF AS INTERNATIONAL BEGGER.

Let us not forget: when import duties became unbearable under the Nana Addo-Bawumia administration, it was not Dr. Bawumia that importers turned to—it was Kennedy Agyapong. Market women, traders, and business owners alike sought his intervention because they trust him. That trust was not bought; it was earned through years of advocacy, accessibility and results. Kennedy should not be paid with insults. I may not endorse or approve him on certain things but not about his visionary leadership. Not about his courage to fight corruption, not about his resilience to create wealth for Ghanaians.

Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, while historic in its symbolism, has not delivered the economic transformation it promised. Under his stewardship as Vice President, Ghana’s economy faced severe challenges, and the party suffered a historic defeat in 2024. Yet, some still argue for his return. Why should a failure be rewarded with a second chance? As Kennedy Agyapong rightly pointed out, the NPP has never been a party that rewards electoral failure.

Meanwhile, Agyapong’s influence in Assin Central turned a former NDC stronghold into an NPP bastion for over two decades. His appeal cuts across party lines, and his ability to connect with ordinary Ghanaians is unmatched. As Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah recently stated, Agyapong embodies integrity, courage and a relentless commitment to justice—qualities that Ghana needs now more than ever. He speaks like a man of hope.

Some have accused him of being too blunt, too bold. But leadership is not about pleasing people. Pleasing everyone for what? True and competent leadership is about doing what is right, even when it is unpopular. Agyapong’s criticisms are not meant to divide the party; they are a wake-up call, as political historian Prof. Adu-Gyamfi noted. They are rooted in a desire to see the NPP return to its founding principles of merit, accountability, and service.

The time has come for the NPP to embrace a new kind of leadership—one that is fearless, pragmatic, and deeply connected to the people. Kennedy Agyapong is not just a candidate; he is a movement. And if the party truly wants to rebuild, it must rally behind him.

Let us not be swayed by empty rhetoric or blinded by loyalty to the status quo. Let us choose a leader who has proven, time and again, that he stands for the people. Let us choose Kennedy Agyapong. Great leaders like Kennedy often faces inter criticism but they finally make their team proud. Let us love Kennedy for he deserves our collective endorsement for a better movement of the party and country beyond Africa.
