The Kumasi Girls Old Girls Association (KGOGA) is set to host a three-day homecoming celebration from May 30 to June 1, 2025, bringing together former students of the all-girls institution for a weekend of mentorship, community service, and cultural celebration.

Dubbed the AHEMMAA Homecoming, the event will take place on the campus of Kumasi Girls Senior High School in the Ashanti Region and is expected to attract hundreds of alumnae from across the country and abroad.

The festivities will begin on Friday, May 30, with the official arrival of the old girls. The opening night will feature a mix of tradition and pageantry, including cultural displays, a cadet parade, a candlelight procession, and a bonfire event that will combine food, music, and social interaction.

Saturday’s programme, according to organizers, will focus on wellness and student empowerment. Activities will begin with morning aerobics, followed by mentorship sessions aimed at building connections between current students and former graduates. The day will also mark the launch of a Student Support Program and Fundraising Drive to raise funds for school development projects. The evening will end with a variety show featuring performances by talented members of the alumni community.

The event will culminate on Sunday, June 1, with the official handing over of the Association’s Anniversary Project to the school. The ceremony will also witness the swearing-in of new KGOGA executive members, followed by a thanksgiving service.

Organizers say the homecoming is not just a reunion, but a call to renew commitment to the values of the school and contribute to the welfare of its current student body.

“This is more than just a celebration. It’s a chance to give back, to inspire, and to strengthen the bonds that connect us as past students,” President of KGOGA said.

The homecoming marks one of the biggest alumni events in the school’s calendar and highlights the growing role of old student associations in Ghana’s educational development landscape.
