Dorfor Adidome Queen Mother
The Kingmakers, Principal Elders, and Stool Father of the Saho Stool of the Akata Clan in the Dorfor Traditional Area have refuted recent claims of chieftaincy tensions and alleged conspiracies, describing them as “false and defamatory.”
Their response follows a media report published on May 25, 2025, which alleged a brewing dispute within Dorfor Adidome involving the Queen Mother and the Juapong Police Commander in a purported plot to install a rival chief.
The allegations were attributed to Isaiah Kofi Gamor, the current Regent of the Saho Stool, who claims the title Togbe Gamor Kofi Saho VII.
In a detailed press statement, the Kingmakers and elders denounced the publication, calling it a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and instill fear and confusion within the community.
“There is no conspiracy by the Queen Mother or the Juapong Police Commander to install any rival chief,” the statement read.
“The allegations are false, defamatory, and made with malicious intent.”
The elders emphasized that Isaiah Kofi Gamor was only appointed as Regent following the passing of Togbe Kofi Saho VI in 2021. His appointment was limited to coordinating funeral arrangements and maintaining order until a new chief could be legitimately installed.
They stressed that Gamor’s current claim to the chieftaincy title lacks endorsement from any court of law or traditional authority.
The longstanding chieftaincy dispute between the late Togbe Kofi Saho VI and the late Togbe Doko Saho VI resulted in multiple legal proceedings, including a 2022 Supreme Court case.
Initially, the Ho High Court had ruled against the burial of Togbe Kofi Saho VI. However, the Supreme Court later overturned the decision, thereby allowing the funeral to proceed.
Photos allegedly circulated by Isaiah Kofi Gamor—showing him alongside prominent individuals, including MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa—were described by the elders as misleading.
According to them, the individuals in the images, including Mama Alorvi Makpeza II, Pastor Wilfred M.K. Glover, and Gamor himself, were serving in their roles as members of the burial committee, not as chiefs.
Following the funeral, the Akata Clan intensified efforts to resolve the dispute and unify under a single chief. Meetings were held with both factions present, during which a resolution was passed to dismiss both the then Stool Father and Regent Gamor. Letters confirming these decisions are documented in Exhibit D-4 Series.
Subsequently, the community informed the Ho Regional Commander, the Juapong Police Commander, and the Dorfor Traditional Council of the selection and planned installation of a new chief, Togbe Saho VII.
The Saho elders are now calling on law enforcement and other relevant authorities to investigate and take appropriate action against Regent Gamor, whom they accuse of destabilizing the community.
“His actions constitute a serious offense, involving the deception of public officers and the incitement of unrest,” they stated.
“We urge authorities to take swift action to restore peace and order.”
