Koo Ofori granted GHC 320,000 bail in alleged $50,000 land fraud case

Renowned Ghanaian actor Samuel Seth Kwabena Kyere Karikari, popularly known as Koo Ofori of Efiewura fame, has been granted bail by the Dansoman District Court in connection with a $50,000 fraud allegation.

The court set bail at GHC 320,000 with three sureties, following the actor’s recent arrest by the Accra Central Police Command. The arrest stems from a complaint filed by a US-based Ghanaian resident in California, who claims Koo Ofori failed to honour an investment agreement after receiving the funds.

According to police investigations, the actor not only defaulted on repayment but also ignored a court summons scheduled for April 17, 2025. His failure to appear prompted the issuance of a bench warrant, which led to his arrest on May 9. A video of the arrest has since circulated widely on social media.

Koo Ofori was held in police custody over the weekend and appeared before the court on Monday, May 12, where bail was granted. He is required to provide three credible sureties to secure his release and ensure his attendance at subsequent court hearings.
