Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Ogum has emphasized the importance of their Matchday 21 Ghana Premier League clash against Berekum Chelsea at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors are aiming to reclaim the top spot, currently trailing league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars by two points.
Ogum believes this game is a must-win if they are to stay in the title race.
“We are fully prepared for this game. If we want to be serious title contenders, we must win. I understand the expectations of the fans, and I have spoken to the players, they know how crucial this match is to our title ambitions. We need to step onto the pitch with the right energy and secure victory at all costs,” he stated.
Ogum also acknowledged the strength of their opponents, recognizing the quality within Berekum Chelsea’s squad.
“They have talented players like Stephen Amankona, I watched him in the FA Cup, and he scored a fantastic goal. They also have Vincent Klu, Zakaria Fuseini, Stephen Sarfo, and Hubert Gyau. This shows they have quality on the field.”
The two sides will face off today at 3 PM at the Baba Yara Stadium.
This fixture also serves as a preview of their upcoming MTN FA Cup semifinal clash in May.
