Asante Kotoko delivered a stunning performance, thrashing Dreams FC 4-1 in a thrilling Ghana Premier League match at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Kwame Opoku stole the show with a brace, while Albert Amoah and Fernando Bassey also scored to seal a comprehensive win for the Porcupine Warriors.
The match began with Amoah breaking the deadlock in the 15th minute, before Opoku doubled the lead just before halftime with a quick reaction to Dauda Saka’s cross.
Despite losing Amoah to injury at halftime, Kotoko maintained their dominance and extended their lead through Opoku’s second goal in the 61st minute.
Dreams FC briefly threatened a comeback when Jonathan Nemoredeen pulled one back, but Opoku’s brace restored Kotoko’s two-goal cushion.
Fernando Bassey added the icing on the cake with a well-taken fourth goal, sealing a 4-1 win for the hosts.
The victory extends Kotoko’s unbeaten run to four matches, including three victories, and boosts their title charge as they sit just two points behind leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.
Meanwhile, Dreams FC’s defeat ends their three-game unbeaten run, and they now sit ninth on the league table with three matches remaining.
Kotoko’s next match will be a crucial encounter against Gold Stars, while Dreams FC face Berekum Chelsea.
