The election was conducted by officials of the Electoral Commission (EC).
In his acceptance speech, the new Assembly Chief expressed his gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the appointment and assured his constituents of his utmost commitment to implementing the president’s vision towards ensuring that the reset agenda succeeds.

“In this direction, I wish to ask for your continuous support, and the cooperation of your subjects, count on your rich experiences, and more particularly your good counsel to enable me succeed in my new office as District Chief Executive for our dear district, Upper Manya Krobo.”
Assuring the assembly and the community of an inclusive leadership approach, he noted, “I wish to seize this opportunity to assure you and your members that I will work hard with all of you to justify the trust and confidence you have reposed in me. I would also like to reiterate the position of the President of the Republic of Ghana to be a listening District Chief Executive; tolerate the concerns and views of all irrespective of your party political affiliations, and live above reproach to ensure that the government’s “reset agenda” is achieved.”
Kwesi Larweh also thanked the chiefs, MP, assembly members, and the people of Upper Manya Kobo for their unflinching support throughout the whole confirmation process and assured the Assembly members of effective collaboration with them to justify the trust and confidence they’ve reposed in him.
Member of Parliament for Upper Manya Krobo, Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, described Kwesi Larweh as the perfect choice to represent the President in Upper Manya Krobo.
He extolled the virtues of the new DCE as being ideal for the position, adding that he’s the right choice to address the challenges confronting the district, including bad roads, access to potable water and markets.
“I’m very confident that this DCE will work very hard for the development of our communities,” he said, pledging his unflinching support for the assembly chief whom he described him as a “transparent and open-minded person.”
