National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah

The National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has announced the party’s return to Peace FM’s flagship morning show, Kokrokoo, after a prolonged boycott.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM on June 20, 2025, Asiedu Nketiah revealed that the decision to return followed a series of discussions between the NDC leadership and the management of Despite Media.

He emphasised that the party had resolved its longstanding concerns with the station and expressed readiness to resume participation in the programme.

“Before the elections, we used to meet regularly. Everyone is aware that the NDC had issues with the Kokrokoo show, and the leadership of the NDC and Peace FM held several meetings about it,” he stated.

“So finally, we agreed that the gun should be returned to where it used to be. We want to let the public know that the issue has been resolved. Now, you know what we expect, and we also know what you want. We will send our representatives to the show, please do not choose them for us. If you have issues with anyone we bring, just report to us.”

He further urged the station’s management to ensure fairness among panelists and to maintain open communication with the party going forward.

“You have your own rules, and we understand that. If anything arises, just communicate with us so the relationship can thrive,” he added.

It may be recalled that the NDC, through its National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi, announced a boycott of Kokrokoo on May 6, 2020.

The decision was based on claims of persistent unfairness against the party on the show.
