Let’s Rally Support Behind ‘the Patriotic Institute’. The Best Way To Safeguard The Party’s Ideologies And Values

To start off, we need to praise and commend highly the leadership of the Party, which came up with this laudable and forward-thinking innovative idea to have a Patriotic Institute, also known as Party School.

As we all know, the leadership of the Party has invited the rank and file of the Party to meet on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, to officially launch the Party’s “Patriotic Institute (Party School)”.

This initiative was announced by the Party’s General Secretary on his Facebook handle and also shared some details concerning the much anticipated Patriotic Institute, i.e, Party School.

Among some of the details were the mission statement, the targeted special programs, the programs and design structure, the delivery mode, and the strategic outcomes.

I personally was full of excitement, not necessarily the announcement, but the benefits many loyal and devoted Party patriots across the length and breadth of the Country stand to gain once it’s established with all the seriousness it deserves.

Taking a cursory look, I have been in a state of worry considering the attitude of some patriots towards the ideologies, values, and history of the NPP.

Objectively, it appears we are losing the core values, ideologies and the spirit of the Party is on a nosedive, and some people within continue to do whatever they want.

Doubtless, the New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom) has its roots and structures which have been the guiding principle when it comes to the direction and the way forward.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom) since its formation in 1992, has contributed enormously to shaping the frontiers of Ghana’s democratic principles and values.

The Party, for so many years, has produced distinguished, revered, and knowledgeable personalities who established themselves and continue to make great strides in the political landscape and outside politics.

In fact, we pride ourselves as a Party with a pool of great intellectuals who excelled in the various roles they play as proud patriots of the NPP.

However, let’s take a critical look at the current atmosphere within the Party, it’s crystal clear that we are losing ground when it comes to the intellectual wing of the Party and the 2024 general elections should be an example, particularly in our tertiary and universities across the Country.

The NPP lost miserably in the tertiary and universities across the country, not because the Party is no more attractive to intellectuals, but as a result of the calculated propaganda churned out by the NDC to deceive people out there.

In my candid view, the blame can’t only be placed on the NDC’s diabolical agenda, which has led to a sharp turnaround, but also on the lack of education on the Party’s roots, core values, and ideologies it stands for over the past years and now.

In addition, the NPP is a centre-right and conservative Political Party governed by its constitution which spells out the rules and regulations to be embraced by all.

Fast forward to the center of this important piece, and it will be in the best interest of all once this Patriotic Institute comes to fruition after the official launch.

What we collectively stand to gain will go a long way to bring back confidence and a great sense of belonging for the Party’s development and the future.

Clearly, I have interacted with and engaged many patriots and some have genuinely expressed their concerns and raised critical issues concerning the attitude and history of the Party.

In my view as well, it’s apparent that some members don’t have firm knowledge about the Party and its structures and ideologies yet they are holding positions from polling stations, Constituency, Regional, and National levels.

Importantly, the establishment of this Party school will serve as an opportunity for Party people to learn, relearn, and unlearn some of the Party’s values and beliefs.

So I urge all to rally their unflinching and unwavering support behind the leadership of the Party in their quest to give life back to the Party through this institute to educate and to inform everyone on the Party’s roots and core values.

All in all, what’s instructive for us to note and consider as patriots is to wholeheartedly embrace the PATRIOTIC INSTITUTE which will reignite and rekindle the spirit of the Party.

Shalom!
Long live NPP!
