The Municipal Chief Executive for Tano South, Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, joined the Girl Child Education Unit of the Techimantia Circuit to commemorate World Menstrual Hygiene Day with female pupils from basic schools in Techimantia.

The event aimed to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene, support girl-child education, and empower young girls to take control of their futures.

Addressing the pupils, Hon. Frimpong emphasized the importance of education and discipline as key to unlocking better opportunities. He urged the girls to take their studies seriously and underscored the critical role of menstrual hygiene in ensuring good health and consistent school attendance.

To support this cause, he presented sanitary pads to the girls under the government’s Free Sanitary Pad Initiative, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring that no girl is left behind due to lack of access to menstrual hygiene products.

Hon. Frimpong also commended the efforts of the Girl Child Education Unit and pledged ongoing support for initiatives that promote the well-being and education of young girls across the municipality.

In a brief address, the Tano South Municipal Director of Education, Ms. Agnes Amihere, encouraged the girls to remain focused on their academic journey and avoid behaviors that could jeopardize their future.
