Telecel Ghana, a telecommunication service provider, and three other corporate organisations have donated equipment and cash to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (MahamaCares).
Telecel Ghana donated three cervical cancer diagnosis machines to support three centres in the country. The three other organisations are Alive Industries, which made a cash donation of GHC 500,000, East Cantonments Pharmacy, 50,000, and KMI Energies, 5,000.
Mr Mohammed Damush, the Group CEO of Telecel Ghana, making the donation on behalf of the group, said the Group would also take care of the operational expenses of the equipment for two years in all three centres and reduce treatment cost requirements.
He said that would impact 1000s of families in the country and improve the health sector.
Alhaji Seidu Agongo, Alive Industries Group Chairman, said the donation was to help alleviate the challenges kidney patients went through, among other things.
Mr Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Minister of Health, receiving the equipment and cash, commended the donors for taking up the challenge the President made to corporate Ghana during the fund launch.
He assured of using the Fund judiciously and implement it for a worthy cause.
