Participants marched from the Aboabo Post Office to the NDC Regional Office
18Plus4NDC a group affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region hosted the second edition of the Momentum Walk, a dynamic, youth-driven initiative spearheaded by the 18Plus4NDC movement, under the leadership of Bridget Bonnie.
Themed the “Politico-Traditional Walk,” this quarter’s event blended cultural expression, political awareness, and social advocacy.
Clad in traditional attire infused with NDC colours, participants marched from the Aboabo Post Office to the NDC Regional Office, engaging residents along the way in conversations about leadership, governance, and national development.
A major highlight of the walk was a powerful campaign against illicit drug abuse, an issue increasingly affecting Ghana’s youth.
The initiative sought to awaken collective responsibility toward protecting future generations.
“The future of Ghana depends on the strength of our youth, and we cannot afford to lose them to drugs,” emphasised Bridget Bonnie, Founder of 18Plus4NDC.
Beyond advocacy, the walk was also a platform to update the public on government initiatives and upcoming plans.
“We used this opportunity to share updates on what the government is currently doing, and what plans are underway for the benefit of the Ghanaian people,” said Dr Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister.
The event reinforced a crucial message: while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) currently governs, the party remains actively engaged in grassroots mobilization, maintaining a strong connection with its base and the general public.
Organizers expressed heartfelt appreciation to Dr Amoakohene for his support and hospitality and also thanked the Ashanti Regional NDC Leadership for their collaboration and enthusiastic participation.
