Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, says the first three months under the NDC government sharply contradict the party’s lofty campaign promises.
According to him, the NDC assured Ghanaians of a better country ahead of the 2024 elections, but their actions in office so far point to a nation already grappling with hardship.
The one-time NPP flagbearer hopeful made the remarks while addressing members of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the NPP at the University of Education, Winneba, over the weekend.
“They promised you heaven… but is this the heaven we’re seeing in just these first three months? Look around, this is only the beginning. Can you imagine what four years of this will bring?” he quizzed.
The maverick politician, however, acknowledged that the deed is done and urged TESCON members to lead the charge to bring the NPP back to power in 2028.
He encouraged them to embark on a house-to-house campaign and engage Ghanaians on why a return to NPP leadership is necessary.
“But what’s done is done. Let us brace ourselves, draw strength from these trials, and rise above them.
“To TESCON, I say this: lead the charge. Take the message of the NPP from house to house. Speak to every soul you meet. Tell them the truth. Tell them our story. And with your efforts, I have no doubt, we shall return,” he said.
