National Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has predicted that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) will lose its public goodwill before the end of 2025.
He claims the NDC, despite currently enjoying a favourable image among Ghanaians, has started veering off track and will soon face public disappointment due to failed promises and poor governance.
“I believe that in 2028, we’ll win the elections. We’ll win because I’ve seen what the NDC is doing now. And for me, I’m very disappointed. I know that by the end of the year, the goodwill they had would have drastically dwindled,” he said.
Speaking on Accra-based JoyPrime on Wednesday, June 25, monitored by ModernGhana News, Nana B said the NPP is already reorganising to present itself as a stronger alternative.
“We are going to work early, and we are also going to highlight the flaws of the NDC—many of the promises they made that I find as failed promises,” he stated.
Nana B further pointed out that the NDC will also have to elect a new flagbearer for the 2028 elections, since President John Mahama would have completed his second term and cannot run again.
“President Mahama will not be in the seat again. They will also go through a certain reorganization as we’re going through, and we’re going to face them squarely. So I’m very, very hopeful that in the year 2028, NPP will come back again,” he said.
As part of its restructuring process following the 2024 defeat, the NPP has scheduled January 31, 2026, to elect a new presidential candidate for the 2028 elections.
