The Minister for the Interior, Mr. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has tasked the newly constituted Auctioneers Registration Board to carry out its mandate with integrity, independence, and purpose, applying the law fairly and making decisions based on principles, not pressure.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony on Thursday in Accra, he emphasised the importance of the Board’s role in ensuring that only qualified, ethical, and law-abiding individuals are permitted to practise as auctioneers.

He stressed that their work should be guided by the values of transparency, professionalism, and service to the public interest.

Mr. Muntaka noted that auctioneers play a critical role in the economic development of the country, hence urged them to sanitize the industry and ensure that only honest and trustworthy individuals are allowed to practise the trade.

He congratulated the members on their appointment and expressed confidence in their ability to uphold the standards and integrity of the profession.

The Chairman of the Board, Mr. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, stated that they would collaborate and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure best practices within the industry, expressing his commitment to promoting professionalism and transparency in auctioneering practices.
