The Supreme Head of Gbese Somnenaa, Nii Doku III, has paid the hospital bills for puerpera (women who have recently given birth) at the Usher Hospital maternity unit in Accra.

He also provided packs of bottled water for the midwives and healthcare workers.

This kind gesture is part of his birthday gift to the community. Last year, on his birthday, Nii Doku III donated food items, assorted drinks, toiletries, and other supplies to various orphanages in Accra, where he celebrated with the less privileged.

The philanthropist has pledged to supply the Usher Hospital maternity unit with essential medical equipment to aid in saving the lives of pregnant women. Known for his kindness, Nii Doku III, who is also the Sempe Muslim Akwashongtse and hails from Gbese in Greater Accra, has consistently supported not only the Ga Mashie people but anyone in need, especially those who are less fortunate.

On this memorable occasion, Nii Doku III expressed that this assistance aligns with his goal of helping and empowering the less privileged in society. He shared that his first daughter was born at the Usher Hospital, making it a privilege for him to cover the hospital bills for women who have given birth there.

He prayed for God’s blessings and guidance for the midwives and medical staff, assuring them of his continued support. Nii Doku III also encouraged well-meaning individuals, particularly chiefs and philanthropists in the Ga Mashie area, to follow his example by assisting those who cannot afford their hospital bills.

The head of the maternity unit thanked Nii Doku III for his generosity towards the women who delivered at the hospital. She called on other chiefs and philanthropists to provide similar support and appealed to the government to expand the hospital facilities.

The mothers who benefited from this initiative expressed their deep gratitude to Nii Doku III for his kindness and prayed for God to continue blessing him for bringing smiles to their faces.
