The newly appointed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkawkaw, Hon. Tamimu Halidu, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, concluded his thank you tour with visits to the palaces of Nkawkawhene, Tweneduroasehene, and Obohene.
The tour was attended by key municipal officials including the Nkawkaw Coordinating Director, Mr. Peter Kwabla Tetteh; the Municipal Financial Officer; Budget Officer; Planning Officer; Presiding Member of the Assembly; the Information Services Director; the Sanitation Officer; and executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Hon. Tamimu Halidu, nominated by President John Dramani Mahama, was overwhelmingly confirmed as MCE on May 6, 2025, receiving 70.3% of the votes from Assembly Members. The confirmation ceremony was a joyous and memorable occasion, drawing a diverse crowd that included political leaders, party representatives, traditional authorities, business leaders, and residents of Kwahuman.
Beginning on Monday, May 12, 2025, the thank you tour spanned several key traditional areas including the palaces of the Zongo Chief, Atibiehene, Obomenghene, Mpraesohene, Bepong Chief, Nkawkawhene, Tweneduroasehene, and Obohene. At each stop, Hon. Halidu expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support shown to him and reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance and shared responsibility for the development of the municipality.
Throughout the tour, Hon. Halidu consistently delivered a message of unity and reaffirmed his role as a driving force behind the “Reset Agenda” championed by the Mahama administration. His vision for Nkawkaw includes major strides in infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, job creation, sanitation, and quality education.
By reaching out to traditional leaders and stakeholders across Kwahu West, Hon. Tamimu Halidu has not only demonstrated humility and appreciation but also reinforced the collaborative spirit needed to drive sustainable development in the municipality.
