The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has instructed its members to avoid discussing internal party matters on public platforms in the wake of its defeat in the December 7, 2024, general elections.
In a circular dated March 20, 2025, and signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party acknowledged the deep disappointment and frustration among its members following the electoral outcome. However, it urged all supporters to remain calm and prioritize unity as the party regroups.
The statement emphasized that while emotions are running high, open discussions of internal grievances in the media could undermine party cohesion. It reminded members of Article 10 (7) (5) of the NPP Constitution, which mandates party officers to coordinate activities and ensure stability within the organization.
To maintain discipline and internal harmony, the party has strictly prohibited its members from making public comments that could fuel division or disaffection among supporters. Instead, grievances should be resolved within the party’s structures as the NPP charts its post-election path forward.
