The German branch of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has thrown a challenge to US-based Ghanaian Economist Dr. Saad Iddrisu, to back his claims that he has evidence of widespread corruption and depletion of state resources by the erstwhile Akufo-Addo administration.
The NPP GERMANY, in a press release issued on Tuesday and signed by its Communications Director Nana Osei Boateng, was reacting to a publication on GhanaWeb Friday 21st February 2025 with the caption: “Ghanaians will demand ‘fast track court’ after NPP’s actions are revealed —Economist”.
NPP Germany further mocked that Dr. Iddrisu claims to have uncovered damning economic data at the Ministry of Finance but conveniently hides behind an “oath of secrecy” to avoid sharing specifics.
The release added, “this is nothing but a cheap trick to cast aspersions on the NPP without providing a shred of verifiable evidence.”

PRESS RELEASE

NPP GERMANY dares Dr. Sa-ad Iddrisu to spill all rotten beans on NPP; Exposing the Deceptive Propaganda of Dr. Sa-ad Iddrisu and the NDC
The latest attempt by Dr. Sa-ad Iddrisu, a so-called US-based economist, to smear the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration reeks of classic National Democratic Congress (NDC) propaganda.
His recent statements, carried on GhanaWeb on February 21, 2025, claiming that Ghanaians would demand a ‘fast track court’ to prosecute former President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration, are nothing more than an orchestrated effort to manipulate public sentiment with baseless allegations and half-truths.
First and foremost, it is laughable that Dr. Iddrisu claims to have uncovered damning economic data at the Ministry of Finance but conveniently hides behind an “oath of secrecy” to avoid sharing specifics.
This is nothing but a cheap trick to cast aspersions on the NPP without providing a shred of verifiable evidence.
If the economic mismanagement he alleges were indeed factual, why not present a comprehensive and credible analysis? Or does he fear that an objective review of the data would contradict his politically motivated rhetoric?
Furthermore, the assertion that the NPP government left the economy in a disastrous state is a hollow narrative that ignores global economic realities.
The Akufo-Addo administration navigated Ghana through the economic wreckage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, global supply chain disruptions, and international financial instability.
While challenges remain, no honest economist would ignore the significant infrastructure development, educational reforms, and industrial initiatives spearheaded under the NPP’s leadership.
The depreciation of the cedi, rising inflation, and fiscal constraints are not unique to Ghana but part of broader economic trends affecting emerging economies worldwide.
It is also worth noting that the NDC, with its history of economic mismanagement and corruption, is in no position to lecture Ghanaians on fiscal responsibility.
The Mahama-led government left behind a collapsed energy sector (dumsor), excessive public debt, and a near-crisis banking system that required bold interventions from the Akufo-Addo administration.
The NPP inherited an economy in distress and made remarkable strides in stabilizing it, despite external shocks.
This is the truth the NDC and their operatives like Dr. Iddrisu wish to erase from the public discourse.
Dr. Iddrisu’s hyperbolic call for ‘fast track courts’ to jail former NPP officials is not just reckless but an outright abuse of due process and democratic principles.
Ghana is a country governed by laws, not the whims of politically motivated economists and social media agitators.
If there is any wrongdoing, let the evidence be presented in a court of law, not in the court of public opinion through sensationalist Facebook posts.
It is time for Ghanaians to reject the calculated deception and fearmongering of the NDC and their cronies.
Instead of fabricating economic horror stories, Dr. Iddrisu and his cohorts should focus on ensuring that the current administration delivers on its promises and does not repeat the glaring failures of the Mahama era. Ghanaians deserve facts, not propaganda.
We Say KUDOS to Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia government!!!
God Bless Our Homeland Ghana!!!
Long Live Ghana, long live the Elephant Party!!!!
Kukruduuuu Eeeessshiii!!!

Nana Osei Boateng
