The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to inaugurate its long-awaited ideological school, the Patriotic Institute, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
The institute is expected to serve as the main political education wing of the party, with a mission to train members—especially current and aspiring officeholders—on the party’s core philosophies, values, and strategies, rooted in its centre-right political tradition.
In a statement dated June 18, General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said the launch forms part of broader reforms aimed at institutionalising political education within the party.
“The Institute will, among other things, be providing education to party members, particularly officeholders, on the party’s philosophy, values, history and political strategy in line with the party’s centre-right philosophies, which underpin the founding of the NPP tradition,” he stated.
The Patriotic Institute will run both mandatory and specialised programmes, according to a document detailing its structure.
The curriculum has been designed by a team of internal and external experts with backgrounds in political science, law, governance, communication, and electoral strategy.
Participation in its foundational programme will be compulsory for all party officers.
It will also be a requirement for members seeking to contest or hold any position within the party.
The school will deliver its programmes through in-person workshops, online courses, leadership exchanges, and mentorship platforms.
Specialised training will also be rolled out for campaign teams, party communicators, diaspora branches, government appointees, and various party wings.
The NPP believes the move will boost its grassroots structures, sharpen its electoral readiness, and produce a generation of ideologically grounded, ethical, and loyal party faithful.
