NPP to launch ‘Patriotic Institute’ in May 2025 to deepen ideological education

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is preparing to launch a major new initiative, the ‘Patriotic Institute’, in May 2025, aimed at strengthening ideological education, building leadership capacity among its members, and enhancing its role in national development.

General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong, announced the upcoming launch during the party’s recent nationwide tour stop in Takoradi.

Highlighting the significance of the move, Mr. Kodua explained that the creation of the Patriotic Institute represents a critical step towards formalising political education within the party and equipping members with vital knowledge, leadership skills, and a renewed commitment to patriotism.

“The Patriotic Institute will be the intellectual and ideological engine of the NPP. It will focus on leadership training, research, and the promotion of the party’s foundational principles — freedom, democracy, development, and service to Ghana,” he said.

He further noted that the Institute’s mission extends beyond the party itself, aiming to foster a new generation of leaders and public servants dedicated to democratic ideals and national advancement.

“This is about grooming a generation that understands governance, patriotism, and the spirit of service to country,” Kodua added.

The Patriotic Institute is expected to offer a range of programmes including seminars, public lectures, political education courses, research publications, and policy analysis. It will also serve as a hub for engaging scholars, political figures, and development experts from both Ghana and abroad.

Party officials have described the initiative as “timely and strategic”, noting that it forms part of the NPP’s broader efforts to reposition itself for the future. Beyond electoral victories, the party is aiming to influence the ideological and developmental direction of the country.

As excitement builds ahead of the launch, party members and political analysts alike are expressing optimism that the Patriotic Institute will serve as a bold investment in the intellectual and leadership capacity of both the NPP and Ghana.

Further details regarding the Institute’s location, programmes, and leadership are expected to be announced at the official launch event in May.
