NPP’s Legacy vs. NDC’s Exclusion in Sissala East

For eight solid years (2017–2025), the NPP in Sissala East upheld a gold standard of inclusive governance. In every round of government appointments to the Municipal Assembly, be it in 2017, 2019, 2021, or 2023, the NPP ensured that:

At least 30% of appointees were women, giving female leaders real power beyond tokenism.

Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) were actively considered, guaranteeing them a voice in decision-making.

This wasn’t mere lip service, it was deliberate policy, driven by the conviction of NPP MPs, MCEs, and Constituency Executives. In Sissala East, inclusion wasn’t a campaign line; it was a living practice.

***Hon. Bataglia, Chairman Moloko & the NDC’s U-Turn: What Happened to Social Democracy?***

Today, under the NDC administration of Hon. Bataglia and Chairman Moloko, the narrative has taken a troubling turn. Of the ten government appointees recently announced:

Only one woman made the list, violating Ghana’s own 30% gender representation target under the Affirmative Action framework.

Zero PWDs were considered, erasing years of inclusive progress.

This isn’t just an oversight. It’s a betrayal of the very ideals the NDC claims to uphold. And it demands answers:

1. Is this your version of social democracy? Campaign slogans full of equality, yet appointments full of exclusion?

2. Are there no competent women in Sissala East? Or are women only good for rallies and foot-soldiering, not leadership?

3. Why must PWDs beg for inclusion under NDC rule when the NPP included them without hesitation?

4. Was your rhetoric on inclusion just a campaign gimmick? If not, where’s the evidence?

***To the Sissala East MP (Hon. Bataglia), Sissala East MCE (Hon. Adamu Yakubu), and Sissala East NDC Constituency Chairman (Chairman Moloko) :***

You have two options:
Fix this now. Restore the balance. Match your words with action.

Or let history record your tenure as one that excluded women and silenced the vulnerable.

The NPP didn’t just preach inclusion, we practiced it. If the NDC wants credibility, they must rise to the same standard. Anything less is hypocrisy in party colours.

Sissala East is watching. And more importantly, they remember.

I shall, In sha Allah, be back…
