Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has assured fans of a safe and memorable experience at the Accra Sports Stadium when Hearts of Oak host Asante Kotoko on Sunday in a highly anticipated Ghana Premier League Matchday 30 fixture.
Speaking to 3Sports ahead of the encounter, Ampofo Ankrah said all necessary preparations have been completed to ensure a smooth and secure matchday.
“All measures have been put in place to ensure the game is played under ideal conditions—security, fan comfort, and stadium readiness. This is an opportunity to reset the tone of Ghana football, where fans come to cheer passionately and respect the final result,” he stated.
The clash, set for May 4, will admit 25,000 fans instead of the full 40,000 capacity due to ongoing maintenance works at the stadium.
Kotoko, who edged the first leg 1-0, are currently 4th on the league table with 50 points, while Hearts sit 6th with 45 points.
With bragging rights and a strong finish to the season on the line, Sunday’s showdown is expected to deliver yet another unforgettable moment in Ghana’s fiercest football rivalry.
