After six intense days in the Ashanti Region, the curtains have drawn on the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) regional qualifiers, with Armed Forces Senior High Technical School and Kumasi Wesley Girls’ High School claiming the final two tickets to the Zonal and National Championships.

In the last regional contest, Armed Forces SHTS delivered an impressive 61-point performance to top the contest, while Kumasi Wesley Girls’ trailed with a solid 42 points—both far ahead of Konadu Yiadom Catholic SHS and Aduman SHS, who scored 16 and 13 points respectively.

This wraps up a competitive regional campaign where 88 schools locked horns in 22 separate contests, with 27 eventually securing qualification to join four seeded schools and a private school: Prempeh College, Opoku Ware School, Osei Tutu SHS, and St. Hubert Seminary SHS. • Kofi Agyei SHTS made headlines for qualifying with an all-Form Two team, following the axing of three senior contestants over teamwork issues.

• Defending Ashanti Zonal champions, Kumasi High School, also booked their place in the next stage.
