The Odau traditional area in the Eastern region has sworn in businessman Nana Osei Afrifa as the Twafohene of the traditional area.

In a grand traditional ceremony Monday, Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe, the Chief of Akyem Etwereso said he and his subchiefs settled on Nana Afrifa because he is the most befitting for the role.

Taking the stool oath before the Odau traditional council, Nana Afrifa promised his unflinching loyalty and support for the Odau stool and its people.

“I swear to be loyal to the stool and the people of Odau at all times, I pledge to make myself available to them at all times and stand by them in all ways within my capabilities and strength,” Nana Afrifa assured the people who responded with thunderous cheers.

Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe assured the new Twafohene that he will provide him a listening ear and the support required to succeed in his role.

The ceremony was attended by some current and former Members of parliament including former Manhyia MP Matthew Opoku Prempreh and Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Ofoase-Ayirebi lawmaker.
