A devastating motorcycle collision at Assin Kyinso in the Assin South District of the Central Region claimed the life of 21-year-old Evans Quansah.

The incident occurred on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 2:40 p.m.

Details of the accident revealed that Bismarck Amoakoh, 23, a rider and a Level 300 student of the Assin Fosu College of Education, sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash.

He suffered severe head injuries, as well as fractures to his arm and neck, and was rushed to St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu for treatment.

Due to the severity of his injuries, Amoakoh was referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further treatment by the medical team on duty.

Eyewitnesses reported to Kasapa News’ Yaw Boagyan that Bismarck Amoakoh was riding an unregistered Apsonic motorbike from Assin Manso towards Assin Andoe.

As he approached Assin Kyinso, he veered into the lane of Evans Quansah, who was riding a Houajin motorbike with registration number M-24-CR 1241 towards Assin Damang. The two motorbikes collided, leaving both riders seriously injured.

The scene was chaotic, with onlookers rushing to aid the two riders.

Despite efforts to revive Evans Quansah, who had little breath remaining, he was pronounced dead by doctors at St. Francis Xavier Hospital.

The Assin South District Police Command has launched an investigation into the accident to determine its cause.

A team of police officers rushed to the scene to clear the road and conveyed the damaged motorbikes to the Assin Manso Police Station.
