In a heartfelt call for peace and solidarity, Nene Ofei Tagbaja, Divisional Chief of the Asesewa Division, led hundreds of residents in a Unity Walk on July 1, 2025, declaring that despite the community’s diversity, its true strength lies in unity.

The event brought together a wide array of participants — from local leaders and church members to market women and youth — who marched through the streets of Asesewa.

The route stretched from Asesewa Town to Asesewa Senior High School, passed along Principal Street, and concluded at the Asesewa Lorry Station.

Addressing the crowd, Nene Ofei Tagbaja emphasized the urgent need for unity as the foundation of community development.

“Today, we demonstrate that despite our differences, our strength lies in unity,” he declared, drawing resounding applause.

The Unity Walk featured vibrant displays of cultural heritage, including drumming, dancing, and singing, celebrating the rich diversity that makes Asesewa unique.

In addition to the cultural festivities, a free health screening exercise was organized to promote community well-being.

Prominent figures who added their voices to the call for peace and development included Felix Nartey Odjao of the planning committee, Bismarck Nyako, Member of Parliament for Upper Manya, and Emmanuel Kwesi Lawer, District Chief Executive of the Upper Manya District Assembly.

Each emphasized the importance of collective responsibility and cooperation in achieving sustainable development.

Felix Nartey Odjao noted, “The Unity Walk has brought us closer, and I am inspired to play a greater role in community development.”

A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Asesewa Unity Initiative — a community-driven programme aimed at implementing development projects that promote inclusion, resilience, and economic growth.
