The Adam Ro Foundation extended a hand of compassion to children in need by organizing a street feeding event at the Ashaiman Traffic Light on January 25, 2024.
The outreach programme, aimed at alleviating hunger and providing a sense of care to underprivileged children, served over 200 kids with hot meals, water, and snacks.
The initiative forms part of the foundation’s mission to support the welfare of children, especially those living in vulnerable conditions on the streets. The event also doubled as an opportunity to engage the children, offering them words of encouragement and hope for a brighter future.
Marketing Director of Adam Ro Music Ltd, Rukayatu Issaka, who was present at the event, emphasized the foundation’s belief in social responsibility and community development.
Adams Munkaila, Sound Engineer at Adam Ro Music Ltd, offered his logistical support, ensuring the event ran smoothly. He described the exercise as a rewarding experience that reminds everyone of the importance of giving back.
Abdul Baaki Masud, Social Worker at the Adam Ro Foundation, helped coordinate the day’s activities, ensuring meals were distributed in an orderly manner. He also took time to speak to some of the children about staying off the streets, encouraging them to seek shelter and education whenever possible.
The culinary team, led by Abiba Issaka with the support of Azumi Issaka and Fati Balayi, prepared a variety of nutritious meals for the children, including jollof rice, plain rice with stew, and local drinks.
The effort behind the scenes ensured that every child received not just a meal, but a moment of care and dignity.
The event was officiated by Ibrahim Suleman Sahnoon Bamba, who praised the volunteers and team members for their dedication to making the event a success.
He stressed the importance of such humanitarian efforts and encouraged more private entities to take similar steps in their communities.
Looking ahead, the Adam Ro Foundation announced plans to expand its street feeding programme to other deprived areas in Greater Accra and beyond.
The next outreach is expected to be announced later in the year, with hopes of reaching even more children in need.
The foundation called on philanthropists, corporate bodies, and individuals to support future initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Ghana’s most vulnerable children.
