A surprise police operation has led to the arrest of 25 suspects, including two women, in known narcotic peddling areas in Mamponteng in the Ashanti Region.
The successful swoop, which was conducted between 6am and 7pm on June 13, 2025 by the Mamponteng District Police, also led to the retrieval of some suspected narcotics.
Those arrested are Oppong Boateng Kessben, 20, Maxwell Atuahene, 27, Kwabena Frimpong, 28, Aminu Mohammed, 25, Akwasi Ishmael, 29, and Jones Peprah, 50.
The rest are Oppong Krankye, 45, Opoku Safo Eric, 24, Ismeal Addae, 31, Barbara Ofori, 23, Bismark Asare, 29, Boateng Listah, 25, Kwabena Agyei, 35, and Kwakye Daniel, 25.
Also in police grips are Agyei Sampson, 23, Ernest Appiah, 20, Junior Ransford, 24, Francis Amoako, 27, Sylvester Amoah, 19, Akwasi Amankwah, 32, and Daniel Agyapong, 23.
The remaining suspects included Anita Konadu Agyemang, 25, Kofi Osei, 35, Kofi Boateng, 24, and Owusu Afriyie, 21. They are all being detained, according to the police statement.
“Exhibits retrieved from some of them included a multi-coloured polythene bag containing 57 wraps of Amnesia, 17 pills of 120g of Tramaking, 13 pills of 250g of Tramaking, a pack of razzler, and two pair of scissors,” the report disclosed.
The police report said the security operation was meant to prevent the sale and use of narcotics in Mamponteng, adding that “suspects are being screened, and those found culpable will be put before court.”
