Randy Abbey [L] and Listowel Nana Kusi-Poku
The General Secretary of the United Front Party (UFP) Listowell Nana Kusi-Poku
has launched a blistering attack on the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr. Randy Abbey, accusing him of denying him a contract.
According to the outspoken politician, the former Metro TV show host instead chose to award the contract to a known NPP member who, he claims, did nothing to support President John Mahama’s 2024 campaign.
Speaking on Accra FM in an interview shared on social media, Listowell Nana Kusi-Poku, who is also the Executive Director of the Good Governance Advocacy Group, said he considered himself more deserving of the contract, adding that Randy Abbey should have awarded him at least two slots.
“I was competing for the same job with Joe Forson, and you gave it to him — such a questionable decision. You, Randy Abbey, denied me this opportunity. I raised this issue in this studio, it was discussed and resolved. Then, when it was time to appoint grassroots members of the party, you vowed to stop the process. I can go as far as he [Randy Abbey] can go.
“My NDC colleagues and I sought a contract from COCOBOD. After buying the suckers to plant, Randy Abbey denied us the contract and gave it to Joe Forson, a known NPP member. Randy Abbey gave him all nine slots. Don’t I deserve at least two slots? You have given the contract to Joe Forson, but you claim it was one Wahab who gave out the contract. Is Wahab the CEO of COCOBOD? he asked”
