Organizations that always takes leave or goes to sleep whenever the New Patriotic Party is in power must stop disgracing themselves. Their conducts exemplifies a class of diabolical shameless characters.
The Ghana Bar Association must stop deluding themselves, they have lost their worth and credibility long ago, no one takes them as a serious organization. They lost their little credibility when they sacked their President Nii Osaah Mills whose crime was, he visited one of their member who was thrown into prison unlawfully.
The Ghana Bar Association went on leave and others slumbering when President Nana Akufo Addo mutilated the Fourth Republican Constitution and humiliated almost everybody. Wasted state resources on useless ventures, traveling in luxurious chartered flights, sank million of dollars into a pit purported to be a cathedral etc.
Why Ghana Bar Association was not concerned when President Nana Akufo Addo sidestepped all the senior supreme court justices and rewarded a Junior Justice who was only four years at the supreme court. Is it prudent for any president to reward a Junior Justice who appeared to have executed a job assigned her very well during the 2020 presidential election petition?.
It is not surprising most members of FIDA Ghana are members of the GBA, therefore they might think alike. Does the leadership of these groups consider the harm they are doing consciously and unconsciously to their reputation whenever they issued politically laced statements.?
Where was FIDA Ghana when some ridiculous characters attacked Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang personality?. Sadly most of the people removed from office were women but that did not discourage qualified women from accepting appointments from governments as FIDA Ghana wanted us to believe.
These wicked parochial nation wreckers are threats to Ghana’s fledgling democracy. The NPP attempt to blackmail President John Mahama was a deliberate ploy to incite investors against his government. But unfortunately for the New Patriotic Party President Mahama have not violated any law which would influence investors negatively, rather it would motivate investors to have faith in a strong robust Judiciary.
The humiliating defeat of the NPP have turned them into a marauding elephants pulling everything down which in their estimation would make the new government unpopular. Listening to the NPP is all about coming back to form government come December 2028, and doing everything possible to discredit the NDC.
The NPP were the first that scheme for the removal of Heads of constitutional institutions in the fourth Republic. Mr Annoh Dompreh and Mr Richard Nyama of the NPP filed a petition for the removal of Madam Lauretta Lamptey, former Commissioner of CHRAJ, then some face less characters filed a petition for the removal of Mrs Charlotte Osei, which affected Mad Georgina Opoku Amankwa and Amadu Sulley.
President John Mills and John Mahama’s government appointed the first female Speaker of Parliament Madam Joyce Adeline Bamford – Addo and first female Attorney General Mad Betty Mould Iddrisu and later Mrs Marietta Brew Appiah was appointed when the later was reshuffled to the Education Ministry. Contrary to the NPP President Nana Akufo Addo appointed Gloria Akufo as the attorney general in his first term and removed her in the second term because she refused to be a pushover. it was alleged she wrote a legal opinion on Agyapa Royalties limited which did not find favour with then president.
Therefore it is ridiculous for anyone to attempt to incite women against President John Mahama’s government as Mr Jerry Ahmed Shuab MP, Weija Gbawe constituency attempted doing.
The Ghana Bar Association under the leadership of Mrs Efua Ghartey earlier statement was very refreshing and progressive which departed from previous posture of the Bar association. Sadly they allowed the NPP elements at the mid year conference to highjacked the process and issued a resolution that contradict their earlier statement.
Mrs Efua Ghartey led Bar Association must ensure she create a positive legacy that must outlived her and also outmatched the previously bias political leadership.
Ghana Bar Association (GBA) and FIDA Ghana must realized the drama that is unfolding for the removal of the Chief Justice Gertrude Essaba Torkornoo is a divine intervention for the injustice done to the senior justices of the Superior Court. of Adjudicature.
President Nana Akufo Addo vindictive character was what is causing the negative embarrassment against Justice Gertrude Torkornoo. Does it make legal sense for President Nana Akufo Addo dislike for Justice Baffoe- Bonney who was appointed by former President John Agyekum Kuffour in the year 2008 should be sidestepped for Justice Gertrude Torkornoo who was appointed only four years to the supreme court.?
The hypocrisy, dishonesty and lies that has bedevilled our values as Ghanaians is seriously destroying the morale fibre of this beautiful country.
