President John Dramani Mahama has officially designated the Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, to represent him and lead Ghana’s high-level delegation to the 2025 Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) in Indiana, USA.

The prestigious global event will take place from June 2 to 5, 2025, in Indianapolis.

Hosted by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) under the auspices of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, GEC 2025 will convene entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and innovation leaders from over 200 countries. This year’s theme, “The Bold Transforms the World,” highlights the transformative potential of entrepreneurship in tackling global challenges and driving inclusive prosperity.

“This appointment reflects Ghana’s unwavering commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and private sector-led development as core pillars of its economic transformation strategy,” said Stephen Gyasi-Kwaw, Country Founder of GEN-Ghana.

“Minister Ofosu-Adjare is expected to participate in the GEC Ministerial Summit, as well as engage in high-level investment forums, bilateral meetings, and policy dialogues aimed at advancing innovation, job creation, and economic diplomacy.”

Ghana’s delegation will include representatives from government, the private sector, entrepreneurial support organizations, and the Ghanaian diaspora.

The team will use the platform to showcase Ghana’s growing investment potential, particularly in agribusiness and industrial innovation, while exploring partnerships to scale the country’s startup ecosystem.

The GEC is recognized as the world’s foremost cross-sector platform for entrepreneurial collaboration. Since its inception in 2009, the Congress has been hosted in major cities such as Dubai, Milan, Istanbul, Johannesburg, and Kansas City. Indianapolis now becomes the second U.S. city to host the GEC, underscoring the global relevance of the event.

Ghana’s participation aligns with its broader international strategy to elevate its startup and MSME ecosystem, build institutional capacity, and expand global public-private partnerships to fuel long-term economic growth.
