Dr matthew Ayeh receives massive endoresment as Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly MCE
Dr Mathew Ayeh, the Prestea Huni-Valley National Democratic Congress (NDC) Secretary in the Western Region, has been overwhelmingly endorsed by all 46 Assembly Members in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area.
The confirmation and election of the president’s nominee for the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality took place at Bogoso on Thursday, April 17, 2025. The process was conducted and supervised by the Electoral Commission in the area and monitored by the Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson.
At the end of the voting, Dr Ayeh secured all 46 votes, representing 100 percent. He is the sole NDC member presented by the party leadership in the area to the regional and national vetting committees for consideration.
In his acceptance remarks, he expressed gratitude to Almighty God for guiding him throughout his journey to becoming the Prestea Huni-Valley MCE. He also thanked President John Dramani Mahama for the trust placed in him.
“First and foremost, I wish to thank the Almighty God for His grace and guidance throughout this journey. To His Excellency the President of the Republic, I am sincerely thankful for the trust reposed in me to serve in this high office. I accept this responsibility with a clear mind and a committed heart,” he said.
Dr Ayeh further expressed appreciation to the chiefs of the area, NDC Western Regional Executives, and the Prestea Huni-Valley NDC Constituency Executives for their support.
“To our revered traditional leaders, Nananom, your wisdom, counsel, and unwavering support have been and will continue to be vital to the success of our development agenda. I extend my deepest respect and look forward to a strengthened partnership that will uplift every community under our care.
“To the Members of the Assembly, I thank you for the confidence you have shown in me through your votes and your encouragement. I pledge to work hand in hand with you—regardless of political differences—because the development of Prestea Huni-Valley is a collective mission that demands unity, focus, and shared purpose,” he added.
He also commended the Member of Parliament (MP) for Prestea Huni-Valley, Robert Wisdom Cudjoe, and the Western Regional Minister for their confidence in him, promising to work closely with them for the betterment of the municipality.
“And to the good people of the municipality—I am here because of you. Your concerns, your dreams, your challenges, and your aspirations are the compass that will guide my tenure. I will listen. I will consult. I will act,” he promised.
The MP for Prestea Huni-Valley Constituency commended the assembly members for voting overwhelmingly to confirm the president’s nominee.
“I was once a DCE for this area, and it was during my era that the NDC government under President John Evans Atta Mills built this beautiful auditorium and the assembly complex. Since then, the NPP government has not added anything to it. I believe now that Mathew Ayeh has come, together we can move Prestea Huni-Valley to the next level, and I’m very happy,” he stated.
The colorful occasion was also used to elect and confirm a new Presiding Member (PM) and to swear in new government appointees.
President John Dramani Mahama nominated Dr. Mathew Ayeh on Friday, April 4, 2025.
