The organization of HAJJ in Ghana is not the best in terms of logistical needs of the pilgrimage. In reality visitation to MACCA for the purpose of religious worship has always been a mirage.
I recommend the cancellation of all the organs; go back to the era of the old good days and re-start again. The people that are put at the helm of affairs to manage the system lack the knowledge to achieve best result.
My perspective is that we should put together the following institutions to take charge of the operations of the HAJJ. (1) IMMIGRATION (2) CUSTOMS (3) AVIATION (4) PASSPORT OFFICE, including a Banking system.
The choices of any particular bank will take responsibility of any individual in terms of payment. We are all aware of the functions of the Immigration visa-à-vi the Customs. Aviation will be responsible for sister aviation company in respect of contractual dealings. The passport office will process the passport of any would- be pilgrims.
These professional organizations having put together will ensure that the entire necessary document of individuals who have effected their payment are taking via the processes for the required travelling document and therefor call the affected pilgrims and informed them of their travelling schedules.
For more efficiency the HAJJ BOARD should be replace by the Chief IMMAN and his clerics’ across the entire country, take them through orientation. Hopefully, Hajj performance will be the thing of the past. SALAAM.
