Rebecca Chissah, a dedicated and experienced politician, has been officially confirmed as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Upper West Akim in the Eastern Region on May 6, 2025.
She secured an impressive 27 votes (71%) in favour, against 11 votes (29%) opposing her confirmation by the assembly members.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, Regional Chairman, Dr Mark Oliver Kevor, and other regional executives were present to supervise the election process, ensuring transparency and fairness throughout.
Upon her swearing-in, Chissah expressed heartfelt gratitude to the assembly members for their support and pledged to work diligently towards the development of the district. She also extended her appreciation to the Eastern Regional Minister and other dignitaries for their guidance and encouragement.
