The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, through his charity, has officially opened a modern six-unit classroom block at the Afienya D/A Basic School in the Greater Accra Region.
According to a report by yen.com.gh, this initiative was realised through a partnership with the Joberg Foundation, a non-profit organisation committed to enhancing educational infrastructure.
Together, they constructed the six-unit classroom block to improve the learning environment at Afienya D/A Basic School.
The new classroom block aims to alleviate overcrowding and promote quality education by providing a conducive environment for students.
This project is part of the foundation’s ongoing mission to enhance education in the constituency for Ghanaian students, the report added.
Sam George expressed gratitude to the group, emphasising the importance of collaboration in achieving their shared goals.
This development comes as basic schools are writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Additionally, during the commissioning ceremony, the minister announced plans to establish a computer lab for the Afienya Cluster of Schools, pledging to donate 40 computers to support this initiative.
A video capturing the minister participating in a BECE session brought light-heartedness to the event, eliciting laughter from the attendees.
