President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, (L) and Sammy Gyamfi
President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has weighed in on the growing controversy surrounding the gifting of a large sum of dollars to Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Agradaa, by Sammy Gyamfi, Acting Chief Executive of the Ghana Gold Board.
Describing the situation as “difficult,” Franklin Cudjoe emphasised the need for transparency, especially given the huge amount of money involved.
In a post shared on X on May 11, 2025, he wrote: “It is a difficult one. It is clear the amount gifted is above GHC 20k.”
He further called on Sammy Gyamfi to provide explanations not only to the public but also to former President John Dramani Mahama, stating: “Sammy needs to answer some questions to us and JM.”
Franklin Cudjoe’s comments come amid increasing public scrutiny after a video emerged on social media showing Sammy Gyamfi handing over what appeared to be a large sum of dollar bills to Agradaa.
Meanwhile, the development has triggered massive criticism, with many questioning the appropriateness and source of the funds.
The incident is gradually fuelling debate online, with calls for accountability and clarity from the political figure.
It is a difficult one. It is clear the amount gifted is above GHC 20k. Sammy needs to answer some questions to us and JM.
