Support President Mahamas MMDCE nominees in Ashanti Region — Abass Nurudeen to assembly members

The Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abass Nurudeen, has appealed to residents in the region to support the Municipal and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) nominees appointed by President John Dramani Mahama.

President Mahama recently released a list of individuals selected to serve as his representatives in various municipal and district assemblies across the Ashanti Region.

However, the announcement has sparked protests in some districts and municipalities, with segments of the public calling for the replacement of certain nominees.

Addressing the concerns on Kumasi-based OTEC 102.9 FM’s afternoon political programme Dwabrem, hosted by Dr. Cash, Mr. Nurudeen—who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Social Investment Fund (SIF)—urged the public to rally behind the nominees.

He emphasized that all the individuals named are dedicated NDC members with proven track records.

“There was a time where the NDC struggled to get parliamentary candidates; it took these same individuals to sacrifice their time and resources to make the party attractive,” he said.

Mr. Nurudeen added that some of the nominees have served as party chairpersons for many years, demonstrating their commitment to the party and justifying their appointments.

He further stated that President Mahama carefully vetted the list before finalizing the appointments and called on the public to offer their full support.
